One aspect of our Strategic Plan is Maintaining Great Trails, and two key areas of focus for us are to:
- Activate track/trail maintenance and building with consideration for trail running, and;
- Live and breathe ‘Leave No Trace’ principles.
To achieve this we need to:
- Build a healthy working relationship with the land managers of the tracks that we run, and;
- Have our TTRA members actively participating in maintenance activities.
To get things started we are interested in hearing which trails in Tasmania are overdue for maintenance?In addressing our objective of Maintaining Great Trails we will be submitting a prioritised list to Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and possibly other land managers to encourage investment in maintaining the amazing tracks and trails we already have. This will become an annual submission and we hope to build on its value and impact as our member input grows and our influence strengthens.
